01 — How it works

It isn't keyword search. It's a conversation with context.

Worth understanding the rules of the channel before you spend a dollar. Here they are, as OpenAI defines them in its advertiser documentation.

Format

One unit, below the response

Advertiser name, favicon, headline, copy, image and landing page. Always identified as sponsored and visually separated from the answer itself.

Audience

Free and Go plans only

Ads are not shown to Plus, Pro or any Business plan users, or to accounts identified as under 18. That's a decisive number when you're sizing this channel for B2B.

Matching

Context hints, not match types

At the ad group level you describe the conversations, topics and situations where your product is relevant. They guide matching, but they aren't exact-match keywords and they don't guarantee delivery.

Auction

Relevance-weighted second price

You bid by objective: CPM for reach, CPC for clicks. OpenAI recommends starting click campaigns with a maximum bid between $3 and $5.

Measurement

Pixel, Conversions API and UTMs

Impressions, clicks, spend, CTR, average CPC and CPM, and conversions. Tracking parameters persist on the click, so the traffic is attributable in your own analytics stack.

Independence

The ad doesn't change the answer

OpenAI keeps advertising separate from responses and gives advertisers no access to user conversations. Paying does not make you more recommendable.

02 — Differences

This is not Google Ads with a new coat of paint.

Port your search account over as-is and you'll burn budget. The auction unit changes, the controls change, and so does the moment your brand shows up.

What that means in practice

Copy doesn't get written off a keyword list. It gets written from the actual questions a buying committee asks while it's choosing a vendor. That's messaging work, not bid work — and it's where an agency that specializes in how AI reads language earns its keep over a traditional paid manager.

03 — Full coverage

Ads buy you presence. Entity buys you the recommendation.

An ad buys a slot below the answer. It doesn't buy the answer. If AI doesn't name you when someone asks about your category, you're paying to enter a conversation you had already lost. That's why we work both layers together.

Organic layer · GEO / AEO

Getting AI to recommend you

The structural work: a recognizable entity, sources that back it up, and content that actually fits your buyer's prompt.

  • Technical architecture and structured data
  • Content and authority built to be citable
  • Tracking of mentions, average position and cited domains
  • Compounding results, on a multi-month curve
Our edge

Our measurement software already tracks which brands surface in AI answers across your category — both organically and as sponsored placements. So we don't launch blind: we know which conversations name you today, which ones your competitors own, and where paid genuinely compensates for an organic gap.

04 — The service

What we do every month.

Full account management, from research to reporting. You own the ad account and the data at all times.

Monthly ChatGPT Ads management

What's included

  • Intent audit: a map of the conversations where your category gets decided
  • Account structure: campaigns by objective, ad groups by intent, no mixed themes
  • Context hints written from real buying questions, not from SEO keyword lists
  • Creative: headline, copy and image, with variants for message testing
  • Landing pages aligned to the prompt that triggers the ad
  • Full measurement: pixel, Conversions API, UTMs and CRM connection
  • Bid and budget management by objective (CPM, CPC or conversion-optimized)
  • Business verification and a policy review against OpenAI's ad policies before launch
  • Monthly report combining paid performance with organic AI visibility

A new channel, run like a serious one

We don't promise volume. Inventory and targeting signals are still limited and the platform changes every few weeks. What we do commit to is a test structure that returns a clear answer — yes or no — in 30 to 60 days, and a report that backs it with data.

05 — Method

Four phases, one clear decision at the end.

We're working to answer one question: does this channel bring you opportunities at a cost that makes sense for your business?

01
Week 1

Diagnostic

We review your category, your buying intents, channel availability in your markets, and whether your buyer is on a plan that sees ads at all. If it isn't a fit, you hear it here.

02
Weeks 2–3

Setup

Account, business verification, measurement, creative and landing pages. Nothing goes live until the pixel is firing and conversion events are validated.

03
Days 30–60

Validation test

Budget concentrated in a single campaign and a handful of intents. We're after a clean signal, not volume: fragmenting spend early only produces noise.

04
Ongoing

Scale

We shift budget to what converts, widen the intent set, and carry the messaging learnings back into your organic AI positioning.

When we'll tell you no
  • If your buyer always works from a Plus, Pro or Business account, they simply won't see your ads.
  • If your category falls under the restrictions in OpenAI's advertising policies.
  • If you don't have a concrete offer and a landing page to send the click to.
  • If the budget can't sustain a 30 to 60 day test. An underfunded test doesn't give you an answer, it gives you noise.
06 — Investment

Two line items, kept separate.

We never bill media spend through our fee. You control what gets spent and where.

Line item 1

Media spend

Paid directly to OpenAI from your own Ads Manager account. You own the account, the data and the creative.

  • Campaign budgets from $25/day
  • No account-level minimum spend
  • Maximum CPM or CPC bid, set at the ad group level
  • We recommend concentrating the validation test in a single campaign
Line item 2

Management fee

Initial setup plus monthly management. Scoped by number of markets, intents to cover and creative volume — and confirmed in writing before we start.

  • Setup, verification and measurement
  • Ongoing management and optimization
  • Creative production and test variants
  • Monthly report combined with your organic AI visibility

FAQ

Questions we get every time.

Does advertising make ChatGPT recommend me more often?
No. OpenAI keeps advertising separate from responses: spend does not change what the model answers. Getting recommended organically takes GEO/AEO work — entity, sources and relevance — which is a distinct and complementary service.
Who actually sees my ads?+
Users 18 and over on the Free and Go plans. Ads are not shown to Plus, Pro or any Business plan account. During the diagnostic we check whether your target buyer fits that profile before recommending the channel at all.
Can I bid on specific keywords?+
Not in the classic sense. You define context hints at the ad group level: topics, situations and terms where your product is relevant. They guide how your ad is matched to a conversation, but they don't work like exact match and they don't guarantee delivery in any given thread.
How do I know it's working?+
Pixel and Conversions API for conversions, plus UTM parameters that persist on the click so traffic is attributable in your own analytics and CRM. The monthly report cross-references impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, CPM, conversions and spend against the opportunities you actually logged.
How much budget do I need to start?+
The technical minimum is $25/day per campaign and there's no account-level minimum — but that number isn't a recommendation. A test that genuinely answers the question needs concentrated spend over 30 to 60 days. We size it from your target cost per opportunity and your average deal value.
Do I also need the organic AI positioning service?+
Not required, but it performs far better together: paid gives you presence and data from day one, organic turns that presence into sustained recommendation. Our GEO/AEO plans start at €995/mo and include lifetime installation of BotPass.
Which markets can we launch in?+
Ads are already serving in more than 40 countries, and as of August 2026 direct purchase through Ads Manager is also available across Europe, India, the Middle East and North Africa. Availability expands frequently — we confirm your specific markets during the diagnostic.

Start showing up inside the conversation.

We'll put together a campaign plan with the buying intents in your category, a budget estimate, and the criteria we'll use to tell you — within 60 days — whether this channel works for you.
